Lent.

I think of myself as a pretty devout christian. I also consider myself a facebooker. So much of a facebooker I would lie on job applications. Lying is a sin facebook is damaging my soul but this is not about hell or damnation. This is about my ridiculous paranoia that I will miss something and be out of the loop.

• I should start by saying I chose giving up facebook because I fought myself about giving it up for a week. A social networking site should not be that important to anyone especially to someone who hardly know/like the 'friends' on her friends list. 
• Second I should say I gave up shopping for three days and was successful but I didn't want to do the same thing twice. I gave up shopping for Lent 2010. It was harder than giving child birth. I am being honest.  I did save a ton of money though.

I also consider giving up other things too like: sweet tea, reality television, going to school and eating. I understand why someone would think no big deal to  some of those ideas.

I didn't want to give up facebook for one reason: I want to see spring break photos but they will be there after Lent is over. so I am good.
